CENTURY PLUS® – Quality Pipeline Installation Training
Tyco Water is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO-Vetab NSW) that offers courses in pipeline installation for Ductile Iron and Mild Steel Pipes.
Goal
To provide pipelayers with a sound basis of efficient and competent methods of installation and reinstatement of pipelines to relevant manufacturers and industry standards.
Outcomes– Understanding of team concepts – Understanding of the effectiveness of quality systems within the workplace – Knowledge of pipeline technologies and systems – Knowledge of the Handling and Installation Manual – Understanding of correct handling and installation of pipelines
Candidates
Personnel involved in the construction and pipeline industry. The program is designed for general pipelayers, leading hands, supervisors and engineering personnel.

Topics – Group dynamics – Problem solving skills / sharing of knowledge – Knowledge of pipeline systems and procedures
Methods – In house workshop – presentation and practical demonstrations – Team projects in problem solving
Assessment – Successful completion of theoretical exercise using the Handling and Installation Manual – Successful demonstration of practical understanding and application for handling and laying pipe – Evidence from learning activities
Resources and Timing – One full day (8.00am - 4.00pm) of faciltated training – 3 hours for follow up assessment ‘boostability’
Cost – 1 attendee AUD$400 plus GST – 2 attendees (from the same organisation) AUD$370 plus GST per person – 3 or more attendees (from the same organisation) AUD$350 plus GST per person – Full course - contact Tyco Water – Re assessments (metro) AUD$80 per person plus GST.
All workshops are conducted over a full day, and may be delivered at main venues operated by Tyco Water, or at remote locations for projects. Successful completion of the training workshop and assessment tasks will result in the Statement of Attainment recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework.
