Tapping Requirements
- To perform a tapping, CTS requires the main to be excavated and exposed as detailed:
- CTS must have access 100mm below the pipe.
- All statutory requirements regarding trenching must be complied with.
- Other services may be in the excavation area provided they are not on the same elevation as the pipe to be tapped.
- Maximum length from the main to the end of the valve off - take is 450mm.
- Minimum trench length from the edge of the pipe 1300mm, in the off-take direction.
- Minimum of 100mm clearance on opposite side of pipe.
Excavation Requirements:
The pipe to be tapped is to be exposed 300mm all round.
